What's actually holding TFT players back

Most Teamfight Tactics players who plateau are losing the game before their carry unit even shows up in the shop. The damage happens in the decisions nobody tracks.

Economy

Spending reactively instead of banking interest

Dropping below 50 gold during Stages 2 and 3 costs you 5 interest gold per round. That's not a minor shortfall. Over a full lobby, a player who banks correctly earns several full rolls more than a player who spends reactively at 40 gold. Most players never see this happening.

Leveling

Missing level thresholds at the wrong stage

Being Level 6 at 3-2 costs almost nothing and opens four-cost unit odds. Waiting until 4-1 because "the board looks fine" means you contested four-cost units a full stage late. Shop odds change dramatically at each level, and mistiming them by even one stage-round is a meaningful disadvantage.

Items

Spreading items instead of concentrating them

Two completed items on the right carry is almost always stronger than four half-items spread across the roster. Players hold off completing items hoping for the perfect unit, or they spread components early because the bench is cluttered. The result is a board with no real damage spike and no unit worth protecting.

Scouting

Forcing a comp that's already contested

If two other players are buying the same three-cost units you need, the shop odds have effectively halved for everyone chasing them. Players who don't scout until Stage 4 are fighting over a depleted pool they walked straight into. The time to pivot is Stage 2, not when the three-cost is gone.

How Callout analyzes your Teamfight Tactics

Two AI passes. One comprehensive report. Every dimension of your TFT game graded with timestamped evidence from your actual match.

01

Upload your VOD

Drop in your screen recording. OBS, ShadowPlay, or any capture tool works. Record at 1080p so the gold counter, shop odds display, and board state are legible. Callout handles the rest.

02

Two-pass AI reads every frame for TFT-specific patterns

Pass one scans your full game and logs every gold decision point: when you leveled, when you rolled, your gold total at each stage transition, item assignments, and board changes after scouting. Pass two re-reads the highest-signal moments in depth, checking your gold banked against the 10/20/30/40/50 interest thresholds each round, your leveling timing against the Stage 3-2 and 4-2 benchmarks, your carry's item load at the first mid-game combat round, and your positioning relative to your opponents' front-line compositions after each scout.

03

Get your full graded breakdown

You get a comprehensive report across all seven coaching dimensions, not a single tip. Each dimension carries a letter grade with the specific rounds that drove it, patterns that showed up repeatedly across your game, and one strength worth keeping.

What Callout grades in Teamfight Tactics

Seven dimensions. Real TFT criteria. Every one graded with evidence from your game, not from a generic coaching template.

01

Economy and Interest Management

Banks gold to earn interest income rather than spending reactively. Targets 50g during Stages 2-3 and earns up to 5 interest gold per round.

02

Leveling Tempo

Hits the correct level at the right stage-round transitions: Level 6 by 3-2, Level 8 by 4-2, to access higher-cost units at good shop odds.

03

Board Positioning

Places the carry in a protected back-row hex, tanks up front, and repositions after scouting the opponent's board composition.

04

Item Priority and Component Routing

Holds components on the bench until the carry unit appears, then concentrates completed items on a single carry rather than spreading them across the roster.

05

Comp Flexibility and Scouting

Scouts other boards each stage to detect contested units, then pivots comp or drops duplicates rather than fighting a losing pool battle.

06

Rolldown Timing and Execution

Saves to a target gold amount and rolls in one concentrated burst at the correct level, rather than soft-rolling a few gold at a time across many rounds.

07

Health Management and Streak Decisions

Deliberately win-streaks or loss-streaks for bonus gold and does not bleed HP to critical range before the cashout round.

Patterns and Observations

Pattern
Reactive spending below the 50g interest threshold. Gold dropped to 38-44g on four separate occasions during Stages 2 and 3, each time triggered by a two-star unit appearing in the shop. The interest income lost across those rounds added up to roughly 12 gold, equivalent to a full rolldown at Level 7.
Pattern
Components distributed before the carry appeared. A Needlessly Large Rod and a Tear of the Goddess were placed on two different front-line units by 3-1. When the intended carry arrived at 3-5, neither item could be transferred and the carry reached Stage 4 with no completed items.
Pattern
No scouting before locking the Stage 3 comp. Two other players were running the same three-cost units. The pool was already thin. Committing to the comp at that point meant competing for units at reduced odds for the next two stages without adjusting.
Strength
Clean, consistent rolldown execution. When the decision was made to roll, it happened in one burst at the right gold total rather than dribbling out two gold per round. This preserved the Level 8 shop odds and found the three-star unit in a single rolldown rather than spreading the probability thin.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before uploading your first Teamfight Tactics game.

What Teamfight Tactics recording formats does Callout accept? +
Callout accepts screen recordings captured with OBS, ShadowPlay, or any video capture tool. TFT doesn't export replay files the way some games do, so a screen recording of your session is the right input. Record at 1080p or above if possible so the HUD, shop odds, and gold counter are legible for the AI.
What Teamfight Tactics ranks benefit most from Callout? +
Callout is most valuable for players in Iron through Diamond, where economy discipline and leveling tempo decisions have the biggest impact on rank. Gold and Platinum players see the sharpest improvements because interest math errors and reactive spending patterns are consistent and highly correctable at those ranks. Emerald and above players benefit most from the comp flexibility and rolldown timing breakdowns.
Does Callout work for Hyper Roll and Double Up, or only standard TFT? +
Callout is primarily calibrated for standard Teamfight Tactics, where economy and leveling tempo decisions matter most. Hyper Roll uses a different gold structure that makes interest management less relevant, so the economy grade is less applicable there. Double Up adds shared bench mechanics that aren't fully graded yet. Standard mode is where the analysis is most comprehensive.
How is this different from watching TFT educational content or pro streams? +
Educational content tells you what good TFT looks like. Callout shows you what YOUR TFT actually looks like, graded against the same criteria. You'll see your exact interest income pattern across every stage of your game, the specific rounds where you leveled late or rolled at the wrong gold amount, and the board state decisions that cost you HP before the cashout round. Not a lesson about economy. Your economy, graded.
Does Callout track specific Set mechanics, or is it general TFT coaching? +
The core coaching dimensions (economy, leveling tempo, positioning, item routing, rolldown timing, health management) are durable across TFT Sets because they reflect the game's underlying math, not Set-specific traits. Comp flexibility and scouting grades are informed by the current Set's trait pool and unit costs. Callout updates its rubric when new Sets ship, so the grading always reflects current meta context.
